S’mores Bars

Happy Friday, Hope you’re having a great day so far and looking forward to a great week. I’m making Monday my foodie day because well everyone uses “Foodie Friday” plus I can get the baking done, or my aunt can get the baking done over the week/weekend and have it ready for Monday, so look for new recipes every Monday! Hope y’all are looking forward to the change in our editorial calendar and all the fun we have coming up!

Baked with Love

As you know {if you follow Raised Southern} I went to Pittsburgh a little over a month ago to see my sister-in-law graduate college with her Bachelors and I thought it was perfect timing because it’s almost been a year since I’ve seen them and it was time for a nice surprise for them.

Graduation Cap Lexy Crawley

My aunt and I planned it all, as we usually do and had to struggle to not “spill the beans” on our surprise. Luckily it all worked out, better than planned and everyone was surprised and excited. We decided to do a little baking the next morning all together because we never get to hang out and cook together and we let the graduate choose what we we’re baking. Lexy chose S’mores Bars and let me tell you these should come with a warning because they are sooooo good.

S'mores Recipe

The original recipe came from Taste of Lizzy T’s and she has some great things over there so be sure to stop by and add some more awesome recipes to your recipe box. We changed things up a little in the S’mores Bars Recipe to make it our own. These are perfect to celebrate the end of the school, cause when I think s’mores I think camping, and when I think camping I think of sweet summertime and summer is almost here. So even if you don’t plan on making these right away, grab the recipe and save it for late, you never know when you may need a great go-to dessert.

These really are a perfect go to dessert and great for a quick dessert that you can take to a cookout or on your next camping trip.

S’mores Bars

  • 1 Betty Crocker Chocolate brownie mix, we went with Dark Chocolate like Lizzy T.
  • •1/2 block of cream cheese, softened
  • •6 tablespoons butter, melted
  • •6 cups of General Mills Golden Graham cereal
  • •1 bag of Large Marshmallows & 1 bag of mini marshmallows
  • •3 tablespoons butter
  • •Hershey bars, up to you how many you would like on your bars.

  1. Mix together Chocolate Brownie Mix, Cream Cheese, and 6 tablespoons of butter. Try not to eat all of this because oh you absolutely will want too. Set aside once you have mixed together well.
  2. Pour 6 cups of Golden Grahams into a bowl, set aside.
  3. Melt 3 tablespoons of butter and Large Marshmallows, once they are fully melted, pour over Golden Grahams, set aside.
  4. Spray your 13x9 Glass Pan with non-stick spray or line with Parchment Paper.
  5. Keep a small teacup of water near you, you will want to keep your fingertips moist because it's about to get sticky. Spread a thin layer of Golden Grahams onto the bottom of the pan, set the rest aside.
  6. Spread all of brownie mix on top of the layer of Golden Grahams.
  7. Spread remaining Golden Grahams Marshmallow mixture upon the brownies.

  9. Put mini marshmallows all of the top of the Golden Graham top layer.
  10. Break apart Hershey Bars, in desired pieces.
  11. Set oven to broil, and broil for 3 mins. or until marshmallows are melted. (Keep your eye on them because these marshmallows can burn very quickly.
  12. Place Hershey bar piece on top of the bars as soon as you remove from oven. You can place all over or in the size where there is one on the top of each bar.
  13. We then melted the remainder Hershey Bars and drizzled over the top of the bars.
  14. Allow to cool (a little, because their delicious warm) and enjoy!
